Muzka

Muzka has been DJing regularly for three decades in his home town Belfast, throughout the country and further afield. He likes to play an eclectic mix of music with an anything goes ethos, ‘if it works, it works’. A music obsessive that has seen him not only DJ but produce music, work in records shops, present his own radio show and teach music production, music is life.

His diverse taste in music has seen him hold down residencies, promote and guest in a variety of venues and successful nights such as Vicos, Beatsuite, Shine, Thompsons, Menagerie, Front Page and many many more including some of Ireland’s biggest festivals such as Oxygen playing for Red Bull. Over the years he has played alongside a range of artists such as Mr Scruff, De La Soul, Nightmares On Wax, Goldie, Two Lone Swordsmen, DJ Shadow, Erol Alkan, DJ Yoda and lots more. Currently Muzka has a monthly residency in Ulster Sports Club and has regular slots at Marine Bar and the excellent Plan B representing the Freebooter Lounge family.

It was The Freebooter Lounge where Muzka found a home for his music productions and is enjoying being part of a new collective, Visions Of Light with label mates Simon Sheldon and Dan Dub Lounge. Muzka has also released on DSPPR and has an upcoming release with VOL on Ibiza Label NuNorthern Soul. After successful gigs previously in Pikes and Word of Mouth Muzka is returning, this time with Visions of Light, to play live at The Freebooter and Plan B weekender in WOM and at Akasha which promises to be a bit special.
