therarelowry

Occasional producer & DJ therarelowry (aka David Lowry) became interested in DJing & collecting records after being inspired by his experiences at various club nights in Glasgow during the mid 90’s (alongside occasional visits to The Art College in Belfast when back at home).

David didn’t start producing music until around a decade later. In 2012 his track Nightshift found the ear of Andrew Weatherall. Unknown to David, Andrew had been playing it in his sets and Nightshift was eventually released on Soft Rocks Kinfolk label in 2015.

Since then David has been releasing a series of tracks written between 2012 & 2022 via his Bandcamp page and labels including Extended Play, Black Tragick and The Freebooter Lounge.

The connection with the latter came about from a suggestion from former PURE DJ and current Pikes resident Russ Forman (aka DJ Dribbler) who suggested David should hook up with Simon and The Freebooter Lounge. This resulted in a remix of Considerations by Freebooter artist Gary Dodds and subsequently an EP featuring two tracks from the 2012-2022 reworks. As well as releasing on Freebooter Lounge David also played his first set in Belfast in over 20 years at the recent Freebooter Lounge Plan B Takeover in March.
