Deep Division, the alias of Stevie Overend, presents a beautiful and deeply moving track created as a tribute to David Anderson, following his sad passing. David was a huge fan and passionate supporter of Stevie’s music after being introduced to him by Aidy McLaughlin during the Covid lockdown Sunday Service sessions.
During this period, Deep Division quickly built strong momentum, attracting significant attention and a loyal local following through his live Facebook sessions. These performances were completely unrehearsed, spontaneous, and driven by pure musical instinct—fun, raw, and immersive jam sessions that resonated deeply with audiences.
Working from his attic studio, Stevie combined synthesisers, keyboards, and MPCs to craft rich electronic and funk-infused soundscapes, occasionally moving into techno territory. The result is a truly diverse live artist with a distinctive and captivating sonic identity.
Mr Anderson received its first major outing in Ibiza at the Plan B and Freebooter weekender, where it was met with an incredible response. A stunning rework by Visions of Light and Klark Bent has injected new energy, depth, and excitement into the project, elevating it to another level.
Specially selected images were chosen by Aidy for the cover artwork, to capture the spirit of the track. Lindsay Mead captured this beautifully using a photo of David at the 1st PLAN-B, combined with the iconic entrance staircase at the Masonic Hall. It’s truly a beautiful thing!
This release is a fitting tribute, and the team are proud to see it released on Freebooter, where it truly belongs.
