The Freebooter Lounge Teams Up with SERC Bangor to Spotlight Emerging Creative Talent.

Here at The Freebooter Lounge, we are always looking for new ways to connect our music with vibrant, visual storytelling. That’s why we recently partnered with the brilliant students at South Eastern Regional College (SERC) in Bangor to create original music videos for a selection of our label’s artists.

A Real World Client Brief Students currently completing their Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media took on a real world challenge, working with us as a real life client. We gave the class access to three compilations featuring a variety of Freebooter artists, and left it up to them to pick a song to visualise.

The students drove the entire creative process:

* Researching their chosen artist and the label’s background.

* Communicating ideas with he label.

* Developing and producing the final cuts.

Launching Our YouTube Channel

The students produced an impressive range of videos. In fact, these projects will be used to officially launch The Freebooter Lounge’s new YouTube channel. This platform will allow our catalogue to connect with a visual medium while actively promoting current and up and coming visual artists.

The Winners

Selecting three winners wasn’t easy, but the final choices covered a great mix of styles, including abstract, animation, and comedy.

Congratulations to the winning creators:

* Harvey Neale

* Oran Toland

* Caleb Wilson

All three received Freebooter Lounge merchandise and gift vouchers as a reward for their excellent work.

Looking Ahead

The Freebooter Lounge is proud to support the future creative talent coming through education and local colleges. We plan to continue our work with lecturer Nik Thomas and SERC in the future, so keep an eye out for more collaborations.
