Phil Cooper Visions Of light live @ Word Of Mouth, Ibiza review

Vision of Light live at WOM Ibiza October 2025

I’ll admit I’m biased here — I signed Visions of Light to NuNorthern Soul — but that only happened because the music stands up. They’ve earned every bit of praise coming their way.

In October they landed in Ibiza for the Freebooter Lounge takeover at WOM in Santa Eulària, delivering a 75-minute set built around their NuNorthern Soul album The Mandala Vortex, alongside selections from their new Swimming in a Sea of Stars EP on FBL — already getting strong support from Café del Mar. They also dropped two curveballs: Blue Monday and Born Slippy. Somehow they washed both in this deep, chilled Balearic glow without losing the pulse and energy that make those originals so iconic. Hard to explain; easy to feel. And it worked.

Across all my years on the island, only a few live acts have truly channelled the spirit of Ibiza and made it their own. A Man Called Adam in the early ’90s at Café del Mar. LCD Soundsystem at the original Ibiza Rocks venue. And now Visions of Light at WOM. Iconic moments that define eras — and I’m glad to say I was there for each one.
