Visions Of Light – (Re) Born Slippy lovely vinyl.

Lovely review @ Juno for the Summer Sampler on
NuNorthern Soul. Also a 2026 best seller, splendid.
The release of NuNorthern Soul’s annual ‘Summer Selections’ EP has long been one of the highlights of many Balearic DJs’ calendars. Phil Cooper’s imprint doesn’t release that much on vinyl, meaning this sixth volume in the series is packed with previously digital-only treats. It’s naturally packed to the rafters with sun-soaked treats, with highlights including Wrekin’ Havoc’s summery electrofunk revision of BJ Smith’s ‘Prototype’, the jaunty, acid-flecked Balearic synth-pop of Sasha Foam (‘Curious’), the deep Balearic dub of Roots Artefact (‘Call To Wind’), and the immersive downtempo soundscape that is Peth Lewis’s evocative ‘Monolith’. Best of all, though, is Vision of Light’s ‘[Re]Born Slippy’, a deliciously slow, atmospheric and exotic cover of Underworld’s legendary 90s dancefloor anthem.
